Office Full Partition Finishes

In the previous article, we’ve highlighted the benefits of a glass partition in an office space and now, it’s time to learn the different glass finishes you can incorporate in the office premises. Well, some might ask if these finishes make a great difference? Here’s what you need to know.

Choosing from the wide array of glass finishes not only adds aesthetic value to the business but also elevates the company credibility in a more dignified manner while observing the ideal level of privacy needed in a dynamic work environment. Now, let’s learn the finishing options and customizations that can be incorporated into the intellectual business center:

Satin glass

A satin glass makes a smooth and silky-looking finish onto the glass partitions. This is achieved by laying off the clear sheet of the mirror into an abrasive material which leads to the desired opaqueness of the crystal divider. Nonetheless, the end finish can be done through the use of films yet in thicker versions to portray the preferred opacity.

The natural lighting can still walk through the office workspace despite the matte finish; however, it leaves people a vision of shady shadows on both sides of the glass partition. This walling consumption is also widely used in fashion boutiques – mostly placed in fitting areas. Hence, it makes a more contemporary looking apparel or office studios.

Reflective glass

The reflective glasses are a simple, clear, and tinted version of finishes. The tints used on this matter are metallic coatings that are positioned to one side or side A of the glass panel which allows the light to reflect and create mirror imagery while allowing side B to see through without getting noticed. You may conclude that it’s identical to a one-way mirror!

This is a perfect use for either exterior or interior glass finishing, usually on tall buildings, banks, or in a glass door of a meeting room. It provides an increased level of productivity during meetings while being able to track down the tasks of other employees, vividly, and privacy to confidential matters. At the same time, it is a great use to reduce the cumulative heat coming from the sunlight – especially in the summer season.

Frosted glass

Frosted glass is often confused with the satin finish due to the same end product finish, but what makes it distinct is the rough and bumpy structure, even so, the tantamount light is still passable. The edgy texture on this glass partition can be attained in two ways which are:

  • Sandblasting: This method uses a powered machine that is in high-speed mode and blows tiny pieces of sand to modify the mirror’s texture.
  • Glass etching: The glass etching is almost the same as sandblasting, but its method involves a hydrofluoric acid, a coarse ingredient, that noshes off the glass surface and creates the desired design for the piece.

The cloudy glass finish is a frequent use to large corporations while taking pride in their company logo embedded, usually in the center of every glass partition, whether it is for the VIP offices, conference rooms, or departments. Furthermore, it also serves as a creative décor to restaurant interior designs by the separation of the banquet room to the main dining area.

Glass films

Versus the aforementioned glass finishes, glass films are strong adhesive sheets that have a wide range of options. It can display a frosted effect, provide different shades, or a glass film showcasing the company logo. Although it’s tacky, deciding to change occasionally would not need to call support from a glass partition supplier or contractor because it’s easy to get replaced, and voila! –done in a couple of minutes. Certainly, this is a great way to style up bland office space and save cost for manpower.

Switchable smart glass partition

One of the avant-garde office fixtures today is the switchable smart glass partitions as it adds elegance to the office space without completely closing down a room. The smart glass dividers are powered by electric currents formed in tiny crystals cased in between the panel pieces. Parallel crystals are formed to unsee the outside picture and dispersal takes place to block off the image which is enabled through a remote switch.

This is a wide use to executive board rooms for the density feature can serve as a projection screen which has the same effect as to the ordinary white screen. The involvement of technology would seem too hefty for maintenance but it goes the same care as a regular glass wall and wouldn’t void its mechanism. All the more, it prevents the entry of harmful UV rays directly to employees and tarnishes on office furniture.
